Hello everyone,
Just to clear one thing up right off the bat, my nickname (uberotter) has _nothing_ to do with UberStudent OS. It's a handle I've been using for a while and I prefer to keep on using it.
Anyway, I've been having trouble downloading UberStudent. I've tried from various PCs with various OSs from various locations (probably 6-8 attempts overall) and I've yet to complete a full download. The most I've got so far is 1.5G. Unfortunately, I've never been at the PC when the download has died so I don't know what's been happening. Is there possibly an issue on your end?
It seems that Plato (2.10-1-desktop-i386.iso) is the most current release - is that right? Are the different versions that are listed here
http://sourceforge.net/projects/uberstu ... Aristotle/ in the process of being built for Plato?
On another topic, just as an FYI, I work in the IT dept at a community college in PA, and I've been toying with a project to set up some PCs with Linux in the library for the students to use and see what a great OS Linux is. I have to cut some more red tape with the higher-ups, but it's looking like it's a go. I definitely want to give UberStudent a shot for this (even though I'm not thrilled with the Ubuntu base, I'd prefer straight Debian), looks like a very nice fit. No doubt I'll have a myriad of questions and be seeking advice, but that's for another post ...
cheers
