When I entered it in browser got download of package 'apt_1.0.1ubuntu2.13_amd64.deb', and when I clicked to install it got:
Error: A later version is already installed.
Should I try to delete the installed one so this can replace it?
I suggest trying the later version of APT that is already installed. Run a find
command to find the absolute path of apt-get
, then use the absolute path found to execute apt-get
to install the app that you are trying to import. (What comes up as a bash-completion
will not be the executable.)
damion@uberstudent:~$ find / -iregex '.*/apt-get' 2>/dev/null
damion@uberstudent:~$ /usr/bin/apt-get install name_of_app_to_import
