Upp in my XFCE-desktop on the panel there appears a red shield with a white X telling that the update manager Could not refresh the list of packages for the sake of

Some months after installing ┼ĘberStudent Linux the update process worked well, but now there is a problem. How to repair it?

What is the directory and files I schould correct in the terminal or what else should I do.

I would greatly appreciate your help in this matter :geek:

Please, be specific. I am already 80 years and have some problems to deal with all this mess :roll:

You just happened to have done the update during the short time when the repository was down. Just log out and log back in and do the updates. It will work.

Nothing seems to wipe out that red shield, EXCEPT when I started the terminal and there "apt-get update" and "apt-get upgrade". The old good frend terminal :mrgreen:

Right-click on that red shield and close it. This refreshes the Update Manager, the shield icon right next to the red one.
