Hello Julius. I apologize for misspelling you name in my last post. You did notice that in Stephen's last post to you that in the third paragraph the blue print is a link: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductLi ... isNodeId=1 to newegg which sells memory but you will need to make sure that you know the correct memory to purchase whether from newegg or elsewhere. James

Julius, you can use NewEgg's Memory Finder Tool and just click through to your specific HP Pavilion laptop model. NewEgg has some really good folks on their payroll so I'd expect it to suggest actually compatible memory. NewEgg does hold shop in Oz and ships from in-country there. Their tool should help you no matter where you choose to get memory, though.

You might also refer to this HP support page.

Also, let's leave the open source xserver-xorg display driver in place for now. It does work quite well. When your semester (term) ends, then venture to add the proprietary driver from AMD. You will want to open Synaptic Package Manger and install fglrx, and reboot. It will likely improve your graphics performance. But let's not make any changes like that amid your current semester. ;)

Hello Stephan Ewen,
I have backed up all my data on two different devices and I have installed windows on my PC. I booted into UberStudent on my USB stick and tried to install it alongside windows 8.1 and when I turned on the laptop the two options were there, UberStudent and windows but when I clicked on UberStudent an error message appeared saying that "Windows failed to boot"
Have you got any ideas on how to fix this problem.
Thank you
