Hi!
Im planning on buying a chromebook(Dell Chromebook 11) to remove Chrome OS and install uberstudent. The chromebook im looking at (and most others) have a memory of 16 SSD. Im wondering how this will work, how much of this space do uberstudent need? Uberstudent comes with alot of good programs, will these fit? and if the do, how much space will i have for other stuff? I don't know what types of sizes these programs have, if they are in the range of kb, Mb or Gb?

Thanks in advance

Martin Brischetto

You're of course meaning drive space, not memory, but that's okay. :geek:

You will need 13 GB to install UberStudent, so you'll need to make sure you save most of your files to an external drive. Also, after doing updates, you should run Deb Cache Cleaner (from Applications > System > Software) so that downloaded files do not hog the leftover space.

when it says that it has 16 Gb drive space. Does that include the space that is occupied by Chrome OS? or do they mean 16 Gb for me to use? In the first case i would have 3 Gb to use for after stuff after installing Uberstudent?

A 16 GB drive means the total size of the drive. You would have 3GB for files leftover after installing UberStudent. You would need to use an external drive to hold most of your files such as documents.
